Product Description Nolan N90-2 Special N-Com Salt silver flip-up helmet
Technical features:
P/J HOMOLOGATION
The helmet can be used either with the chin guard open (J configuration) or closed (P configuration), as the protective chin guard has passed the homologation tests required by UN/ECE regulations for full-face helmets.
VPS SUNSCREEN WITHUV 400 PROTECTION
Positioned on the inside of the helmet, it is moulded out of LEXANTM and is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treated, with UV protection up to 400 nanometres. It is easy to remove when it is not needed, or for normal maintenance and cleaning operations. The activation system (patented) allows for the automatic retraction of the sunscreen in the standby position. In this way, eventual emergency manoeuvres for the rapid retraction of maximum visibility offered by the visor (for example when entering a tunnel) are more simple. * LEXANTM IS A TRADEMARK OF SABICDUAL ACTION (PATENTED)
Exclusive DUAL ACTION chin guard opening system. Positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening. The dual action opening mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening: the chin guard can be opened only operating the first release lever (or safety lock) and then activating the second lever.
MICROLOCK2 (PATENTED)
Double lever retention system with micrometric adjustment. This system consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system.
INTEGRATED CHIN STRAPS
Removable and washable, they favour the helmet’s fit, as well as its wearability.
READY FOR N-COM
The helmet is set up and approved with installed N-Com communication system.
POLYCARBONATE OUTER SHELL
It is injection moulded with General Electric polycarbonate LEXANTM*, the resin that, with a defined shape, thickness and procedure, provides superior performance level to other plastics, especially in terms of high impact resistance: during impact testing, this product showed values of 900/1000 J/m, instead of 550/600 J/m for ABS resin. Moreover, LEXANTM* resin, invented and manufactured by the SABIC Innovative Plastics Company (former General Electric Plastics), also distinguishes itself by its superior thermal resistance: the range of SABIC Innovative Plastics LEXANTM* resin is between -30°C and +120°C (for ABS: -20°C and +50°C). Nolan regularly tests painted and unpainted shells, at ambient temperature and at temperature of -20°C, by means of a compressed air pipe on which shell and chin guard are placed. The test consists of shooting a bullet with about a 300 Joule energy towards specific points of impact. In the paint department, water-based paints (recognized as “being “ecological”, because they contain a lower percentage of solvents) are used principally, with Hi-Brite, the protective hard coating assuring a long-term brightness of the colours. The painting process is also tested, by means of a specific climatic chamber. Shells are conditioned with specific thermal cycles of about 14 hours, with a relative humidity between 10% and 75% and temperatures between 40°C and 80°C. An extreme test is also carried out at a 100°C temperature. This will ensure the perfect durability of decals in any weather and temperature condition. * LEXANTM IS A TRADEMARK OF SABIC
